CAF Awards organizers announce plans to hold event in Morocco

The organizers for the Confederation of African Football have made announcements about the next version of the prestigious award ceremony.
According to a statement by the the CAF Communications Department published on The awards ceremony will be held on July 21 on a Thursday the 21st of July at the Moroccan Embassy in Morocco.
“This year’s edition of the prestigious award ceremony for African football, the CAF Awards 2022, will return on Thursday, 21 July 2022 in Morocco,” the announcement said.
“The CAF Awards will be held in advance of the final of Africa’s most prestigious competitions for women, TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco which is scheduled for 20223 between July 02 and the 23rd of July in 2022.
“The ceremony will be held in conjunction with two years of introduction of the CAF Women’s Football Strategy.
“In keeping with that the introduction of a new category, Interclubs Women player of the year was established following the success of the roll-out in the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League in the month of November 2021.
“As in previous years there will be a variety of categories that will be awarded as well as the most sought-after prizes like The Player of the Year (Men and Women).
“Other categories are Interclub Players of the Year Young Player of the Year National Team of the Year Coach of the Year The Club of the Year and Goal of the Year and Goal of.
“The final winners are determined through the votes of coaches and captains of the member Associations as well as selected journalists the CAF Technical Study Group and the CAF Legends.
“The review period runs from September 2021 to June 2022.
“The last edition of the CAF Awards was held in 2019 at Hurghada, Egypt.
Senegalese forward Sadio Mane and Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala were awarded the African Player of the Year award for both for women and men.
