Premier League giants Chelsea are no longer interested in signing Manchester United forward Cristiano Roroso.
The 37-year-old Portuguese international wants to leave the club. He has been linked to a move to Stamford Bridge.
After signing Raheem Sterling, a former Manchester City forward, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel stated that his “focus” is on defense.
This is because Manchester United boss Erik ten Ha said Ronaldo was “in our plans” but “not for sale”.
Because of “personal issues”, Ten Hag said that the forward is unable to travel with Manchester United on pre-season tours of Asia and Australia.
Chelsea’s new owner is understood to be thrilled with the recruitment by England international Sterling. They consider him a marquee sign.
Sterling has teamed up with the Chelsea team in Los Angeles to prepare for pre-season.
Tuchel stated that he hopes Sterling can help “shape” the team and lead a young attack after Romelu Lukaku’s loan departure to Inter Milan.
According to the German coach, Chelsea must “work smart” and “fast” in order to catch their rivals after sanctions. Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly is set to sign a 4-year contract and talks have been held with Nathan Ake, Manchester City’s centre-back.
There were also links to France centre-back Presnel Kimpembe and Paris St-Germain, which Tuchel managed between 2018 and 2020.
